Frequently asked questions
Practical answers to the questions the chamber is asked most often.
Consultation & fees
How do I book a consultation?
Use the consultation form on the contact page, or call the chamber during office hours. Include a two-line summary of the matter and your preferred date, and the chamber will confirm a slot.
What does a consultation cost?
The fee depends on the complexity of the matter and whether a written opinion is required. You will be told the amount before the appointment is confirmed — there are no charges you have not agreed to in advance.
General
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes. Everything you share is treated as privileged and confidential, whether or not the chamber goes on to act for you. Case files in the client portal are visible only to you and the assigned legal team.
Do you take cases outside Dhaka?
Matters before the High Court Division are handled from Dhaka regardless of where the dispute arose. For district court matters outside Dhaka, the chamber works with associate counsel locally.
What documents should I preserve?
Keep originals of every deed, agreement, notice, receipt and court paper, along with the envelopes showing dates of service. Bring photocopies to the chamber and keep the originals safe with you.
Can you guarantee the result of my case?
No lawyer can, and professional conduct rules do not permit such a promise. What the chamber can promise is preparation, candour about your prospects, and diligent representation.
Cases & procedure
How long does a case take?
It depends on the forum and the nature of the dispute. At the first consultation you will be given a realistic range, and you will be told promptly if anything changes that estimate.
Client portal
Can I see the progress of my case online?
Yes. Clients of the chamber receive a private portal login where the case timeline, next hearing date and shared documents are available at any time.
